Services
Our services are designed to address the needs of children, adults and whole families. Below you will find an overview and links to more detailed pages.
Overview
BrightRoots offers short-term interventions, ongoing therapy, family work and consultancy with schools or care providers. We focus on practical strategies that improve daily life — emotional regulation, predictable routines, and strengthened relationships.
Child wellness support
We provide mental and emotional care, support to develop a stable structure at home and school, escalation of concerns to social workers when required, and educational development support.
Adult counselling
We offer support for relationship trauma (family), mental and emotional care, drug & alcohol support programmes, and marriage/divorce support — addressing conflict within the scope of our practitioner’s qualifications, with referrals to specialist services where appropriate.
Family work & systems support
We help families form predictable, calm routines, strengthen boundaries with warmth, and manage transitions like separation, bereavement or changing care arrangements.
Escalation & safeguarding
When safety concerns arise, BrightRoots works with families and statutory services to escalate appropriately and ensure children are protected. We prioritise clear communication and respect for confidentiality.
Resources & short exercises
Quick exercises you can try at home to build skills between sessions.
- Daily check-in: At one daily moment, ask "What went well today?" to build positive noticing.
- 2‑minute breathing: Breathe in for 4, out for 6 — repeat 4 times to reduce calmness before difficult tasks.
- Emotion naming: Use a feelings chart for children — point to the face that matches how they feel and mirror it back.
- School liaison: If challenges happen at school, request a short meeting with a teacher to agree one consistent strategy.
