Practical tips you can use today
- For children: Use short, calm instructions, predictable routines and simple visual schedules to reduce anxiety and confusion.
- Emotional coaching: Name feelings aloud ("I can see you're frustrated") and teach a simple coping strategy (deep breaths, 5-count). Practice when calm.
- School routines: Share one consistent expectation between home and school (e.g., morning checklist) to create stability.
- For adults: Try a 3βstep grounding exercise β name 3 things you see, 2 things you can touch, 1 deep breath β to use before difficult conversations.
